Ligi Ndogo Foundation team (under-23) held Nairobi Division one side Nakumatt FC to a 1-1 draw in an exhibition match played at the Sameer Firestone playground.
Oscar Odhiambo gave Nakumatt the lead in the 35th minute after conveting a Melvin Kariuki (former Ligi Ndogo captain) pass.The Foundation team equalized through Wellington Ochieng's penalty in the 87th minute.
The Ligi Ndogo Foundation team is made exclusively of players below the age of 23.It is the feeder team to the Ligi Ndogo Senior team the Planets.Four of its players:Mark Tizodi,Edwin Mkanda,Edgar Odhiambo,Lawrence Ochieng are part of the outfit that was promoted to the Senior team,the Planets.
Nakumatt fielded their new signings Dick Oketch (Celtic),William Mafavi (Mahakama and Mafuko Bombers),Fank Wambura (Celtic),Stephen Ochieng Huruma) and Melvin Kariuki (Agro Chemicals and Ligi Ndogo).
The Ligi Ndogo Foundation team will feature in the FKF Provincial League,a step below the Division One league and two steps below the premier league.
