Ligi Ndogo (Kenyan pronunciation: lee gee ndogow) is a Swahili word meaning little league. It is a league for little footballers.The popular sobriquet is LIGI.
Ligi Ndogo social anthem is:Always a Part of You.It was conjured under nostalgic circumstances;every member,previously enrolled at Ligi Ndogo either came back into the program or kept interacting long after graduation.Parents and senior players,too,made constant calls to ponder over the happenings or to reminisce upon the past.
This has resulted into a filial base that wellcomes back all who sprang from it.
Ligi was officilly launched in February 2002 with the opening of Ngong Road centre.Three other expansion programs have been added at RTI,Gigiri and Karen.
LIGI NDOGO crest was also unveiled in 2002 during its inception.It consists of the words ‘LIGI’ in bold caps and ‘NDOGO’ under it.
Ligi Ndogo pennant colors are white,lime green and yellow.
Ligi has three shades of green and a white outline. The first(forest green) is an outline curved round the shadow of the letters. The second (icon green) is a fill between the letters and the shadow and the third (cadmium/lime green) fills the letters. White color is highlighted all round each word.
Ndogo,capped (Expo)is meshed in a golden yellow fill and a green outline.The anthem 'Always a Part of You' is green and embeded in double quotes.
Ligi Ndogo is an exciting learning experience. It runs parallel to an academic program; the curriculum is designed to develop, nurture and expose children’s soccer skills at an early age. From a four year old who requires motor balance to a senior who receives guidance and co-operation in team play, Ligi offers them a quality program which uses soccer to empower them to also impact positively in any social setup they engage. Ligi Ndogo has rapidly become synonymous with any young aspiring soccer stars in Nairobi and beyond. |
