About the Tournament
Uganda Junior League (UJL) is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of Uganda's youth
through the sports disciplines of soccer, basketball, tennis and swimming at different levels of age and competition.
Ligi Ndogo has made it part of its calendar of events and has been participating in the tournament since the first invitation in 2005.The soccer tournament missed a beat last year.
Three Ligi Ndogo categories have been participating in the event for the past six years. These are:U9,U12 and U14 teams.
The tournament is normally held during the April holidays and runs for a week.Ligi Ndogo caused eternal ripples at the first tournament when it featured Hadija Omar,a female player, alongside male participants.Skeptical at first, the organizers were won over when she displayed skill unnatural for her age and gender.Haddija is now a junior at Matuu Girls school.
The purpose of this trip is within our objectives of exposing our members to early sporting opportunities within and without our borders with a view to turning them into the realms of professionalism. This tour is also part of preparation for the Keele (UK) Tournament  coming up in July and Arusha Chipkizi (Tanzania) in December.
