Chipkizi Future Tournament



Ligi Ndogo travelled to Arusha Tanzania for the inaugural Chipkizi Future Tournament.This was in line with part of the Ligi Ndogo objective:To expose players to all competitions at home and abroad.The tournament featured teams from the three East African countries of Kenya,Uganda and Tanzania.Ligi Ndogo represented Kenya by sending two U10 and U12 teams.The matches conicided with the Senior CECAFA tournament. 


Ligi Ndogo played the first match against Tanzania's Advance and lost by a lone goal.Ligi steadily progressed and after a barren draw beat Uganda's Mamba in the third place final.Ligi were kept in the game by the heroics of Marcos Otieno who was superb on goal.He deservedly won man of the match honors.

3rd Place Final
Ligi Ndogo 1 v Mamba 0;

Jupiter superstar Jan Ochieng exported his skills to Tanzania and in a classic case of bravado helped Ligi Ndogo U10 to a top place finish.He scored in every game before being edged out by Tanzania's Mamba.Ligi's situation was made complicated when the choice goalkeeper,Paul Oketch,suffered an injury before the finals.Marcos Otieno filled in and did well by stopping two penalties.Anthony Cheboi was the lone spot scorer.

Uganda's Kids Promotion surprised Ligi in their first match.In a match of Ndogo's Ligi recovered to beat Soka Ndogo of Tanzania.Future Stars did a Tanzanian bounceback and edged out Ligi in the semi final.

Ligi Ndogo lost its first match to Tanzania's Future Stars after overlooking some gross neglect in age categorizing.However Ligi officials had to intervene when in the next match the discrepancies glared,both physically and in maturity.Subsequently,Mombasa Academy were disqualified and Ligi given a bye to the semis.Their enthusiasm jolted,the demoralized boys went down 4-1 via penalties after a barren draw.
