FKF Division One Second Leg Matches

 Ligi Ndogo (5) v Kibera Celtic (17) Sat 7 City Stadium 3pm
First Round Kibera Celtic 2 v Ligi Ndogo 1

Celtic has not won a match since 12 May. (Un)fortunately the win was against Ligi Ndogo in a 35 minute blitzkrieg that featured two penalties (for) and a first half red card (on) the home team. Not that it mattered; the home team bullied their way through a recalcitrant Planet side dilapidated by the absence of its major players and failure to capitalize on numeric advantage. The Planets' naiveté was more evident as they let the flow of play go against them.
The Planets have learnt their lesson and go into this match highly favored to cruise through the Celtic wall. They picked themselves from dilapidation and won four of their last 6 games. Though it was dented by an enervating home loss to Mombasa’s Magongo, (their first of the season at home),they are in knowledge of its enormity.
Celtic have not won in the last 6 games, four draws are sandwiched by two losses on both sides.Celtic continue their goal dearth;they have scored 2 goals and conceded 7.Their bleak run features 2 loses and ties on the road.

Bidco United (3) v KSL Thola Glass (18):Sun 8 City Stadium 3pm
irst Round Thola Glass 0 v Bidco United 2
Mirror mirror on the wall, who had the fairest run of them all? Bidco United did!
In a hair splitting 6 match run, they tore the league apart at every turn and on every ground, at home and on the road en route to a league high 6 wins in a row.Their tie in the last match at Sparki was only compounded by the fact that they missed a spot kick and a chance at the whole pie.
The loose cannon is expected to steam roll K.S.L, a side that has not won a game since kingdom come, well, since May 6.
They soaked 11 goals in the last 6 matches, the most by any team.
Bidco is a hurtling truck. The first leg score line over KSL was modest, the second may not be too palatable.

Iron Strikers (15) v Congo JMJ United (9) Sun 8 City Stadium 3pm
First Round Congo United 1 v Iron Strikers 1

Iron Strikers won 4 in a row at one point before retreating back to the loser’s cradle they call home.
Strikers have lost 4 of their last 6 and have only 2 points. Of note is the fact that they have scored 6 goals in the last 6, the most in any losing effort in 6 matches;but they lost because they conceded 15, the most by any..Well, you get the picture.
Their porous defense will concede some more, and their forwards will score some more in another losing effort.
A fledgling Congo has had a remarkable run after initially starting the league on a dismal note. A pale shadow of themselves, it was hard to fathom that just a few months prior, they were plying their skills in the league of hard knocks. Even the spirit had left them.
However, their class was still visible in their well manicured style of play, deft touches on the ball and uncanny instincts around goal. It was just a matter of time before they matured.
Mature they have and the championship spirit has crept back to urge them to the 9th spot on the log.
Their class was manifest in the last six games as they won 3 in the rebound and lost only once. Though they are still gullible, this young side brings about a style of play that will be pleasant to watch in the next 8-12 months.
In the meantime, let us savor in their turnaround, which should claim victim number 4 in seven matches.

Mathare Youth (20) v Coast United(11):Sun 8 City Stadium 3pm
First Round Coast United 3 v Mathare Youth 1

Mathare will scavenge on this one because: 1.They can and 2.Coast United will be listless and tired after getting run down by K.R.A.But they should be tired too after being run down by Bandari.Either way,Mathare should position themselves for their first points of the first leg.
