Planets Seek to Complete Fabulous Weekend

Ligi Ndogo Planets are on a high as they play Bidco FC in the second match of a weekend double header at the City Stadium.
The Planets rod history, will of steel and a compact defensive midfield to surprise top placed Mahakama in a game whose pyrotechnics were largely fuelled by a controversial penalty call eleven minutes to the end of the game. The umpire judged it a shove by a Planet defender.

Television replays later showed otherwise.More on Mahakama
And eventful it was. The Planets went ahead in the 18th minute when Mahakama defenders completely misjudged Abbas Akinyemi’s tricky lob. It gave enough time for Planet striker, Charmant Chihuguyu to go round them and head the ball over the onrushing Kevin Otiese, for their first goal on the road this season.
The second goal was practical workmanship once again from Abbas .Mahakama was caught on the counter and Charmant easily made it double.
After a twenty minute blitzkrieg, the home team pulled one back from the spot. The winding ticks, cut it short after two minutes of added time,to gift the Planets with their first win on the road from four tries.

Their first lose this year was on the road to Kariobangi Sharks. They tied 1-1 at Celtic before squeezing a slim, but vital,1-0 win over visiting Bandari.
Their worst lose was a 3-1 drubbing by Oserian FC in the FK Cup on 4th June 2011.Their last home lose was yesterday’s 2-1 stamp from the Kenya Revenue Authority. Their last lose away was another 2-1 punch at Real Kisumu on 27 November last year.

The Planets hope to secure six valuable points in a fabulous weekend that could pave a clearer road on their quest for next year’s promotion to the League of Hard Knocks.
