FKF LEAGUE GETTING CLOSER

Practice has been intense at the Ligi Ndogo Ngong' Rd facility for the last one month.
More than 50 players have been taken through an intense physical and ball workout aimed at gauging certain aspects of their game and thus qualification to feature for the Planets in the forthcoming FKF Division One League. Areas of priority included: position requirement, player strength, agility and team-system adaptation, among other things.
Individual discipline and player turnout was highly reflected. Skill, malleability, teamwork and adaptation was evident along other key techniques and performance indices.
The players also responded well in skill levels, ball work, defense and in the last day there was a remarkable improvement in attitude.
Practice paces incorporated soccer conditioning and short tryout games; players were also given nutritional tips and proper soccer diets.
The trial session has entered the last and final week which is Friday. It will be followed over the weeked by the last exhibition matches after which the final representatives will be picked.
Boosted by last season's strong, finish Ligi Ndogo has embarked on an early preseason program to see it through to the national premier league.FKF Eastern zone, where Ligi features, comprises teams that equally had strong finishes.Ligi Ndogo will play Mahakama (#2),either Administration Police (#9) or Mathare Youth (#12),Admiral (#7),KRA (#5) and premier league relegated sides,Bandari and Congo Stars (now Mombasa City) among other teams in its zone. The Planets are set to play their first match against Kariobangi Sharks on February 18.
Looking good
Ligi has had all its players back.Captain Sammy Machio, who limped throughout the second leg due to a bum ankle is fully recovered;so is Cornelius Ekene, the midfield turbo and the versatile Salim Abdalla.Coupled with a few trialists who have looked superb in practise runs,Ligi is confident of promotion in October.

Former Premier League Players
Also in attendance are several players who have had experience at the premier league level.Of note is Harry Gentle, the quintessential striker who featured for Sofapaka and AFC Leopards  in the premier league.A spindle injury on the fifth metertarsal picked up on 23rd October during the AFC,Gor match, slowed down his career.
Originally a striker but able to fill in all positions,Harry took a one year sit-out to heal.On return he was part of the eighteen man roster that was sent on leave when Leopards changed management.

Fully recovered,Harry hopes to get his fitness back to the level of competition that would take any team to the next level.Watch more of recovered Harry in practise
